About Thorpe Hall

Welcome to Thorpe Hall School

A message from Headteacher, Mr. Andrew Hampton.

Thorpe Hall School is a non-selective, co-educational, independent day school with small class sizes, excellent facilities and outstanding results.

Our pupils have a happy and positive school life, rich in variety and with a wealth of opportunity for them to be challenged, supported and successful. We place great emphasis on teaching pupils how to learn and how to develop the skills they need to become life-long learners so that, wherever life takes them, they can be the best they can be.

Founded in 1925, Thorpe Hall is a forward-thinking school with the traditional values of hard work, respect and good manners.  We are a modern, child-centred school with an outstanding record in educating children for their next stage in life.

We recently received a glowing report from the Independent School's Inspectorate, the body responsible for the inspection of schools in membership of the Associations that make up the Independent Schools CouncilYou can view our summary document here or a full copy of the report here

Thorpe Hall School has charitable status and is not-for-profit. This means that all financial surpluses are available to re-invest in the school and its pupils.

We use state of the art information technology to accelerate learning and increase pupil engagement in education. Thorpe Hall was recognised with an Independent Schools Association Excellence Award for innovative uses of ICT to support learning in 2010. In 2011 the school was also nominated for the prestigious 'Senior Leadership Team of the Year Award' by the Independent Schools Magazine.

If you would like to see Thorpe Hall for yourself ring the office and ask for an appointment to see me - I will be delighted to meet you and show you round this wonderful school.
