Sport at Thorpe Hall School.
Details of the sporting curriculum and fixtures
The time allocated each week to sport throughout the school exceeds the standard set by Sports England to be recognised with an Activemark and Sportsmark.
Children have the opportunity to take part in football, rugby, tag rugby, cricket, athletics, gymnastics, tennis, table tennis, basketball, badminton, cross country, swimming, rounders and golf plus many other active pursuits. Emphasis is placed on whole-hearted participation by all pupils at all levels of ability.
Thorpe Hall School is a member of the Independent Schools Association and takes part in both regional and national events in football, netball, rugby, rounders, tennis, golf, cross country, swimming and athletics.
Our proactive P.E. department also has strong links with the Southend Schools Sports Partnership which generates a full and varied calendar of inter-school fixtures. The school's all-weather cricket strip, tennis and netball courts, extensive grounds and sports hall provide excellent facilities for all the regular school sports. We also have access to some of the region's finest specialist venues including golf courses, aquatic centres and sailing facilities.
