Duke of Edinburgh Award
Thorpe Hall School offers the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme gives all young people the chance to develop skills for work and life, fulfil their potential and have a brighter future. Participation in the award scheme is available to Years 9, 10 and 11.
The Award programme is non-competitive and concentrates on helping the individual to develop personal skills, leadership potential and good citizenship. It provides a balanced programme in which participants successfully complete four sections in order to achieve the required standard for each level of the award.
There are 10 key principles to the Award:

The voluntary staff are fully qualified to guide the participants in their selection of activities, and to teach the expedition skills.
